BEFORE YOU SEND

Frequently asked questions

English summaries of the official scheme information and FAQs. Checked 15 September 2026. Rules may change; follow the latest official instructions.

Which vehicles qualify, and what are the date cutoffs?

Motorcycles and other two- or three-wheelers must have been registered on or after 1 January 2011. Cars with engines up to 800cc must have been registered on or after 1 January 2006. The official FAQ excludes vehicles registered before these dates.

This helper checks the details you enter. Only the government service can verify your records and approve registration.

Does the vehicle or SIM need to be in my name?

Send the SMS from a mobile number registered against your own CNIC. A car must be registered in your name. Motorcycles and other two- or three-wheelers do not have to be registered in the applicant’s name.

Does generating the message register me?

No. Send the message to 9771 from your SMS app and wait for the registration confirmation. Registration is a one-time step; after confirmation, request tokens when needed.

Which date should I use, and how should it be written?

Use the vehicle registration date on your registration document. The official instructions specify DDMMYYYY, for example 02092026 for 2 September 2026.

This helper currently generates DD/MM/YYYY, based on a reported successful registration. If that format is rejected, follow the official instructions and remove the date separators before sending. This helper cannot confirm which formats the service currently accepts.

How much relief and fuel does a token cover?

The published relief is Rs. 100 per litre off the prevailing petrol price.

  • Two- and three-wheelers: 5 litres per token, with a validity of 7 days.
  • Cars up to 800cc: 10 litres per token, with a validity of 10 days.

Check the quantity and expiry in your actual token message.

How do I get a token, and how often can I request one?

After registration confirmation, send TOK to 9771 before visiting a petrol pump. The official FAQ allows one token per 7 days for two- and three-wheelers, or one per 10 days for cars. It says no additional token is issued within that interval.

What happens if my token expires unused?

The token expires. You can request a new one subject to the applicable 7-day or 10-day interval. Follow the expiry shown in your token SMS.

What do I do at the petrol pump?

Show the token received from 9771 at a participating petrol pump. The pump verifies it before supplying subsidised petrol. Generating a registration message on this website does not create a fuel token.

What if I receive no reply or have a problem at the pump?

Check your CNIC, vehicle number, province, registration date and that the sending SIM is in your name. For missing tokens, SMS or verification guidance, and pump complaints, call the citizen helpline on 9771. Petrol pump owners can call 9772. This independent helper cannot look up applications or issue tokens.
